Leonidas William “Leon” Zois
April 19, 1920 - November 11, 2019

An Auxiliiarist for over 35 years, Leon was loved and respected by all who knew him. Always generous with his words and deeds, his devotion to his family and his country are unparalleled.
He was a lifetime florist, decorated World War II Army veteran, Coast Guard Auxiliary commander, and a member of Ahepa Eureka Chapter and the American Legion.Leon received the Legion of Honor Medal presented by France for his solidarity he showed towards the county of France and its people as a Private First Class, Company C, 291st Infantry, participating in the Liberation of Normandy, the Liberation of Northern France, the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of the Rhineland.
It is with profound gratitude that we praise Leon for his love of family, friends and country. He truly embodied the Coast Guard core values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty.
