AUXUAS-SRRP PROGRAM
UNMANNED AERIAL SYSTEMS – SHORT RANGE REMOTE PILOT DESIGNATION
The Coast Guard has deployed Short Range Unmanned Aerial Systems (aka Drones) to
various units (Sectors, Marine Safety Units, Cutters, etc) as an aid to operations. Auxiliarists who meet the following requirements may earn the SHORT RANGE UAS REMOTE PILOT qualification:
• Member is located near an SR-UAS Equipped Active USCG Unit
• The SR-UAS Equipped Active USCG Unit has a need/desire for AUX Remote Pilot
support
• Member has aptitude and desire to contribute to USCG operations as UAS Remote Pilot
• Auxiliary member in AP, BQ, or AX status.
• ICS-100, ICS -200, ICS-210 (or ICS-300), and ICS-800 complete
• Current for Auxiliary Core Training (AUXCT).
• Has Submitted Direct Informational (DI) Personnel Security Investigation.
• Pass the FAA Part 107 knowledge test and obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Current for Risk Management training (Introduction to Risk Management and Annual
RM/TCT Refresher complete)

becoming certified as an Auxiliary Short Range Remote Pilot, members should contact their District Staff Officer – Aviation (DSO-AV).
