Uniforms (Auxiliary Manual Ch. 10)
All Auxiliarists are authorized and encouraged to wear the various Auxiliary
uniforms or the Blazer outfit. Auxiliarists must wear a uniform when participating
in some Coast Guard and Auxiliary programs and activities. Uniforms shall be
Uniform and Insignia
While there is no equivalence in rank or office between military members and the Auxiliary, the following shows the updated uniform insignia for Auxiliary offices
- Elected office devices and shoulder boards have blue “A”s
- Appointed office devices and shoulder boards have red “A”s
- When no longer serving in the office, the highest office, the member has achieved is warn with the Past Officer Device.
- When serving on the National Staff, the National Staff Insignia is worn. It's to be removed when no longer serving on the National Staff.
- No Longer Authorized (Obsolete)
- Undress Blue - Summer, Bravo with collar devices
- Working Blue Long
- Working Blue Short
- Tucked ODU (May be used until no longer serviceable)
- Ball Caps with enhanced bills
