About Training
Member Training is charged with the training of all Auxiliarists. District, Division, and Flotilla Member Training Officers are supported by the National Member Training Department designated as "T".
There are several areas of training:
- Core Training (Required for New Members & to Maintain Currency):
- AUXCT, BQII, Risk Management, and more...
- Competency Training:
- This includes functions such as Vessel Examiner, Partner Visitation, Boat Crew/Coxswain, Marine Safety, and others
- Training Programs & Devices
- Annual District Training Meetings (DTRAIN)
- Operational Auxiliarist Program (AUXOPS)
- Marine Safety Ribbon & Insignia
- Recreational Boating Safety(RBS) Device

Important member training resources include the Coast Guard funded "C-Schools" located at training centers around the country; the "eLearning" online classroom Auxiliary Classroom; and the National Online Test Center (NTC); Unit Member Training Officers; and volunteer mentor/proctors from the general membership.
In addition, there is a District-wide, online Member Training Calendar for members to find required training that is being offered outside of their Flotilla or Division.
