FSO-IS (and all others).
Please remind members of your Flotilla to submit activities according to the following guidelines/schedule.
7029s should be submitted monthly, no later than 10 days following the end of the previous month. For example, a January 7029 should be reported by Feb 10. The only exception is December. December's 7029 should be reported no later than Dec 20.
7030s should be reported as soon as practical after the close of the event but no later than 3 days. For example, an event taking place on May 6 should be reported by May 9. For public affairs activities, the organizer of the event or a designated person will submit one 7030 for all parties present. All public education courses should be submitted by the lead instructor.
7038 and 7046 should be reported as soon as practical after the vessel safety check or visit, but no later the 3 days. If there are any trainees, each trainee MUST go on a separate 7038 AND the trainee should be annotated on the 7012. A copy of the 7012 (showing the trainee) must be sent to the FSO/SO-IS for documentation required for certification.
As a reminder, any time in travel or prep for vessel checks, visits, public affairs, etc is recorded on a 7029 under mission code 99B. This includes travel time to parades. Time spent completing an activity is recorded on a 7030/7038/7046. For example, you are marching in a parade. If the parade lasts 3 hours and it took you 2 hours to drive there. You would record 2 hours on a 7029 under 99B and the other 3 hours would be recorded on a 7030. In other words, do not record 5 hours on the 7029,
Remember, all hours submitted do not only benefit you, your Flotilla, the Division, but also the Coast Guard.
