Service Dress Blue, Male
The Service Dress Blue men's uniform consists of a dress blue coat and pants. The gold Coast Guard buttons must be replaced with silver Auxiliary buttons. A light blue uniform shirt is most commonly worn (Service Dress Blue "Bravo"), however some situations may call for the wear of a white uniform shirt (Service Dress Blue "Alpha"). Black socks and shoes are worn. The sleeves of the coat have silver sleeve lace appropriate for the wearer's office. The sleeve lace begins 2" above the bottom of the cuff, with each stripe separated by 1/4". A silver shield is worn 1/4" above the top stripe.
Appropriate outerwear for the Service Dress Blue uniform includes the Trench Coat, Bridge Coat, and Foul Weather Parka (for extreme weather).
Service Dress Blue, Female
The women's Service Dress Blue uniform is similar to the men's uniform, except that the wearer is authorized to wear either blue uniform pants or a blue uniform skirt. Additionally, the Coast Guard Blue Tab Tie replaces the men's necktie. Appropriate footwear includes plain stockings when wearing the skirt, and black pumps with low heels.
