The Auxiliary Supports the Coast Guard
Our members play a significant role in bringing boaters home safely.
For every Auxiliarist who stands a communications watch, an active duty Coast Guard member is free to perform other duties.
Auxiliary members, Nick Lomangino (left) and Greg Eaton (right), are Coast Guard qualified communications watchstanders, seen here standing radio watch at a nearby Coast Guard Station.
Did you know when a vessel in distress signals the Coast Guard, it is often a Coast Guard Auxiliary member who receives the information?
Mobile Communications Support Vehicle
Flotilla Staff Officer for Communications, Charles Kelley, has been directing the installation of radios in a vehicle which will be capable of providing emergency communications support.
