Note:  Shoes from non-Coast Guard sources are generally acceptable if they meet the following criteria.

The men's dress shoe is made of smooth black leather of the lace-up plain oxford style. The heels are no higher than one inch, and the shoe is a low cut plain style without decoration.  There is no stitching or seams across the toe. The sole edges, heels, and laces are the same color as the shoe.

The women's standard issue dress shoe is made of smooth black leather of the lace-up plain oxford style.  The heels are no higher than one inch.  The sole edges, heels, and laces are the same color (black) as the shoe.
