FSO-PE - Public Education: I exercise staff responsibility and supervision over all matters pertaining to the public education program, which includes the scheduling, organization and conduct of flotilla public education activities, and keep flotilla members informed of all developments in the program. I schedule qualified Auxiliarists to perform specific activities in support of the public education program. I serve as the custodian of flotilla equipment and material used for public education. I monitor and contact program members who have not met annual currency maintenance requirements and ensure that they are given an opportunity to meet the requirements before season’s ends. I maintain close liaison with the Division Public Education Staff Officer (SO-PE) in order to implement the public education programs established for nation-wide, district-wide and division-wide use. I coordinate and cooperate with the Flotilla Member Training Officer (FSO-MT) to increase the number of qualified instructors. I maintain close contact with flotilla instructors to encourage increased activity and maintenance of uniformly high standards. I forward to the SO-PE such methods, training aids, course materials, or other educational tools developed within the flotilla that may have division-wide application. My duties include collaboration with the FSO-HR to encourage the presentation of information on the Auxiliary and Auxiliary membership to the students at each public education course. I work with the FSO-PA to encourage programs and activities to promote Auxiliary public education courses in media, school systems, camps, clubs and industry groups. I encourage the FSO-VE to promote and publicize Auxiliary public education courses at vessel examination stations.Like Us on
