Operations Training Officer

CWO Jason Kellermeyer
Chief Warrant Officer Jason D. Kellermeyer is the operations training officer (OTO) for the Ninth Coast Guard District.

A native of Spencerville, OH, he enlisted in the Coast Guard in March 1998. His first tour of duty was on USCGC DECISIVE (WMEC 629) in Pascagoula, MS. Subsequent assignments and positions include:

  • Operations Petty Officer at  Coast Guard Station Sturgeon Bay in Sturgeon Bay, WI; USCGC METOMPKIN (WPB 1325) in Key West, FL; Patrol Forces Southwest Asia.
  • First Lieutenant on USCGC KNIGHT ISLAND (WPB 1348) in St. Petersburg, FL
  • Executive Petty Officer at Coast Guard Station Wilmette Harbor in Wilmette, IL
  • Executive Petty Officer on USCGC GANNET (WPB 87334) in Fort Lauderdale, FL
  • Ready For Operations at Coast Guard Sector Charleston, Charleston, SC.
  • First Lieutenant on USCGC WAESCHE (WMSL 751) in Alameda, CA.
  • Commanding Officer of USCGC SEA DOG (WPB-87373) in Kings Bay, GA.

CWO Kellermeyer is a graduate of Boat Forces Command Cadre School, Prospective Commanding Officer Afloat School, Chief Warrant Officer Professional Development Course, the Chief Petty Officer’s Academy, and Boarding Officer School. 

CWO Kellermeyer’s military awards include two Coast Guard Commendation Medals, four Coast Guard Achievement Medals, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, the Coast Guard Arctic Service Medal and the Armed Forces Service Medal as well as numerous unit and team awards.  He wears his permanent Cutterman and Coxswain pin.

CWO Kellermeyer has been married for eight years to the former Jenny Lee Gillis of Calais, ME.
