Welcome to the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary
and to the Sheepshead Bay Flotilla 11-13!
FIRST STEPS
As a new member, there are number of tasks you should complete within the first 30 days to help you better understand and serve the Coast Guard by familiarizing yourself with its customs, traditions, history, policies, regulations, missions and programs.
The first thing you should do is log into the Auxiliary Directory HERE to create a password. It will prompt you for your 7-digit Member ID, which was sent to the email address you entered on your Enrollment Application. Once you've created your password, you will use this password and your Member ID to access the other sites below.
Next, you should complete your Core Training, which consists of viewing all the videos found HERE. These are a series of training courses focused on supporting Coast Guard Auxiliarists’ assignment and performance of duties. To start, hit the Play button on each video. After watching all of the videos, you'll need to attest that you watched all the videos. Go to ntc.cgaux.org and click on Take a Test on the left-hand side. Then log in with your Member ID and password. Click on the Self-Attestation Catalog tab and click on each test under Test ID to attest you watched that video.
Lastly, you'll need to take seven Basic Qualification Exams. The Study Guides for each of the seven modules in pdf format can be found HERE. After you log in, click on the link to the Auxiliary Classroom. After you've reviewed each Study Guide, go back to ntc.cgaux.org to take all seven tests, BQCM1 through BQCM7, under the Test Catalog tab. The number of questions, time limit and passing grade will be provided.

Once you’ve completed all of the above, visit the Auxiliary Mission section under New to the Auxiliary? to learn about the wide array of missions the Coast Guard Auxiliary performs and determine which program you’re interested in pursuing.
