- End of Traditional Paper Charts - In November 2019,
NOAA initiated a five-year process to end all Raster Nautical Chart (RNC)
production used in making traditional paper
charts. NOAA is intent on easing the transition to Electronic Navigational Chart (ENC) based
products while continuing to support safe navigation. A chief ENC advantage is that chart updates occur weekly and are immediately available for navigation use.

- RNC chart viewer - available until 2024. Use to print or download PDF chart booklets.
- ENC chart viewer - view the new charts or download datasets for use with any ENC charting product.
- Nautical Chart Viewer - Lake Winnebago and the Lower Fox River system are covered in NOAA chart # 14916. This format is the traditional chart book form.
- Deviation and Variation. They affect every compass and without an understanding, you could end up miles off-course. Learn what you can do to correct and minimize their effects.
