US Coast Guard Auxiliarists of Division 16, 5th Northern District, Complete Comprehensive Boat Crew Training at Station Manasquan, NJ
Members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary’s Division 16, 5th Northern District, successfully completed an intensive Boat Crew Training program at Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet, NJ. The training emphasized seamanship, communications, search and rescue techniques, and teamwork under realistic operational conditions.
This rigorous program is part of the Auxiliary’s mission to support the U.S. Coast Guard in enhancing maritime safety and readiness along the Jersey Shore. Congratulations to all participating Auxiliarists for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service.

Frank began his public service career in 1971, joining the New Jersey Department of Labor through a veterans grant following his honorable service in U.S. Army Military Intelligence, where he served overseas in Okinawa and later stateside in Eatontown. At NJDOL, Frank built a distinguished career as a field investigator, supervisor, and unit chief focused on public contracting, wage and hour compliance, and notably, farm labor enforcement. In 2005, he was appointed Chief of the Public Safety Bureau in the Public Safety and Health Division, where he led regulatory oversight for asbestos control, mine and quarry safety, explosives licensing, mobile crane operations, pyrotechnics, retail gasoline, and hotel panic alert systems.
Frank's commitment to public safety and worker protection has left a lasting impact on New Jersey’s labor enforcement framework. Beyond his professional contributions, he has maintained a lifetime of community service. He served in the Seaside Park Police Department, held leadership positions with the American Legion in Seaside Heights, and has been an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 16-10 for over twenty years, including service as Flotilla Commander and Secretary.
At 81 years of age, Frank continues to serve his community with energy, integrity, and humility. His lifetime of service exemplifies the highest ideals of civic responsibility, making him an outstanding candidate for this honor.

This Fast Response Cutter (FRC) is named for William Chadwick, a keeper of the Green Island Lifeboat Station in New Jersey. He received the Congressional Gold Lifesaving Medal for the rescue of the crew of the schooner George Taulane in 1880.
The FRC is near and dear to my heart as I was a member of the team who developed the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the FRC while working at Buzzards Point Washington DC for the U.S. Coast Guard. - George Hartigan
