America's Waterway Watch (AWW), a combined effort of the Coast Guard and its Reserve and Auxiliary components, continues to grow, enlisting the active participation of those who live, work or play around America's waterfront areas. Coast Guard Reserve personnel concentrate on connecting with businesses and government agencies, while Auxiliarists focus on building AWW awareness among the recreational boating public.

This Auxiliary Outreach effort will provide information on what to do or who to call if an unusual activity takes place in one of the above areas listed or who to call if there is an unusually large amount of debris or strange smelling substance in the water.

AUX- ACP - Auxiliary Assistant Contingency Planner – this qualification is essential for personnel involved in contingency planning and preparedness, which arguably includes any elected officer, operations, or marine safety participant in the Auxiliary.
Sea Partners is an environmental education and outreach program focused on communities at large to develop community awareness of maritime pollution issues and to improve compliance with marine environmental protection laws and regulations.
Sea Partners messages include:
+ How marine environmental protection laws and regulations apply to various marine users.
+ Ways groups and individuals can take action to protect the marine environment.
+ A Sea Partners' "Educational Trunk" is available for classes.
The Coast Guard maintains the primary Sea Partners website.
Commercial Ferry Vessel Outreach Thomas Sarnicola, ADSO-MS-FVA
The Commercial Ferry Vessel Outreach involves reviewing safety procedures and equipment required by CFR 40 while the vessel in underway. There is required training and successful completion of the Commercial Ferry Boat Outreach PQS approved by the Coast Guard. We hope to add the Commercial Ferry Boat Outreach training in the 2020 Fall PCA fair or sooner after approval by Sector SF.

AUX-LR - Assistant Life Raft Inspector - oversee servicing of liferafts and associated equipment in routine periodic tests by commercial facilities.

AUX-UTV - Uninspected Towing Vessel Examiner – A voluntary inspection of US-flagged uninspected towing vessels (UTVs) that do not carry passengers or freight for hire.
Commercial Fishing Vessel , ADSO-MS-CFV
AUX-CFVE - Commercial Fishing Vessel Examiner – Dockside exams are held for the Commercial Fishing Vessel Industry. They are a no fault assessment of the required safety equipment to be carried by these vessels. Training is held twice a year, just before Salmon Season and again in the fall just before Crab Season.

Regional Exam Center Course Oversight
Fraud Document Examiner – qualifies you to work with mariners in remote locations to perform fingerprinting, document examination and administering oaths.
Pacific Strike Team
Provides support to the Pacific Strike Team, one of 3 units nationally which support the National Response Center in cleaning up oil and hazardous material spills. Our support consists primarily of assuming the duties of Officer of the Day in the front office, handling communications and other administrative tasks.

AuxED - Aux Asst Pollution Responder PQS
The Aux provides support to Sector SF Response, by coordinating the Abandoned Derelict Vessel program with CA State Lands Commission, NOAA, and ERMA. Auxiliary provides the air and surface surveys of abandoned and derelict vessels in the Delta and other Nor Cal waterways and provides the data entry into a national database managed by NOAA. These efforts assist in getting funding for vessel cleanup for Delta County Sheriffs.

The HAZWOPER classes offered by the CG Auxiliary, (4 hour) ) are recommended for Auxiliary members that participate in operations (surface) in support of the Abandoned Derelict Vessel project and required (8 hour) for members when participating in environmental or oil spill incidents (such as the Cosco Bosson , Lion-Tiger Tug, or New Horizon) or clean up surveillance such as the SCAT (Shoreline Cleanup Assessment Technique). Members will need to renew the 8 hour HAZWOPER every other year
