Why Submit a Meaningful Report??

• Provides information regarding our purposes and missions 
• Provides information for Coast Guard leaders who require information on what the Auxiliary is doing and contributing 
• Discloses unknown information to leaders up the chain 
• Accounts for expenditures of time, energy, and other resources 
•  Becomes historical documentation on contributions, accomplishments, goals 
•  Provides insight and information on what and who we need to recognize for accomplishments 
•  Provides justification(s) to one of our two main customers, the CG, on why they should continue to support the Auxiliary administratively, publicly, financially up and down their chain 
• Provides information for other members to know what is happening – internal communications 
•  Provides a useful tool chest for recruiting and orienting 
• Informs up and down the chain on what we are doing well, and where we need to improve 
• Lets leaders know where we need to focus additional time and resources 
• Communicates concerns, issues, suggestions and recommendations for further research, deliberation, planning, policy, decisions, and actions 
• Can be used to develop trends
• May be used for public affairs articles, speeches, and presentations
