On May 31, 2015 Flotilla 1-05 vessel examiners once again led a vessel safety check day at the Laurel Street USCG Auxiliary Vessel Safety Check Station. In total, we had eight yachts call at the station for vessel exams.

Highlight of the morning was that our youngest and newest vessel examiner, Devin Peters, was able to complete five supervised exams, thereby finishing the final requirements for qualification as a USCG Auxiliary Vessel Examiner. Once the system becomes updated with his qualification, he will be the tenth vessel examiner currently active with Mission Bay Flotilla. Congratulations Devin!

As we were closing up shop for the day, we were treated to a display of lightning over Downtown and San Diego Bay, something we don’t get to see often in San Diego.
