d. If a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary referred/introduced you to the flotilla meeting, include his/her name on your cover email. Be sure to keep him/her informed of your progress. This person will become your mentor in the induction process.

If we have enough applicants at one time, we will set up a day to process everyone  together, and will include the two  required FEMA courses.

Your screening process will include a photograph of you taken by the screener. (No earrings please)

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER ACCEPTANCE OF YOUR APPLICATION

1. You will receive your member number, which gives you access to Auxiliary website training.

2. During this period, you are expected to complete the ONLINE US Coast Guard Auxiliary mandatory CORE training, and the Basic Qualification Courses ( BQC). This is all online, and consists of two FEMA certifications, HR related courses, and 7 BQ Modules

3. Once you have completed the mandated training, you will be authorized to wear the uniform.

You may then focus on what trainings you would like to pursue ( Crew, Navigation, etc ) We recommend that ALL new members first  receive their Vessel Examiner certification. This is an online course and field training. Vessel Exams are a major part of our mission in Nevada.
