Flotilla 6-4, Monterey
36°36′11″N 121°53′37″W
Flotilla Monterey 6-4 is an active unit of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. On most Saturdays, 6-4 boat crews conduct on-the-water patrols and train with Active Duty personnel of USCG Station Monterey. Since ensuring safe recreational boating is the number-one goal of the Auxiliary, 6-4 members offer courses to the public in navigation, seamanship, and safe boating skills on a regular basis. Flotilla members participate in local area events such as Monterey Whalefest, the Coastal Cleanup, and the Dockwalkers Program. Flotilla 6-4 members also augment USCG personnel by regularly standing watch at Station Monterey and participating in District 11NR’s aviation program as air observers/aircrew. Members provide Commercial Fishing Vessel Examinations (CFVEs) and Uninspected Passenger Vessel Examiners (UPVs) upon request. These and many other opportunities are available in the USCG Auxiliary for those who wish to serve the U.S. Coast Guard, their community, and the Nation. Flotilla 6-4 meets at Coast Guard Station Monterey on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30 PM. You can learn more about Flotilla Monterey by visiting the Monterey 6-4 website at the web address http://a1130604.wow.uscgaux.info/
