Charles “Drew” Wilkins is the Deputy Director of the Response Directorate. His previous appointment was the Deputy Director, Operations of the International Affairs Directorate where he led the Interpreter Corps and supported partner nations in advancing global maritime safety through International Outreach initiatives.
He is a member of Flotilla 05-10 in New York City since 2007 where he is a Coxswain, Instructor, and Vessel Examiner, Drew’s background includes both shoreside education and in-field patrols, from educating new boaters at public events to executing search and rescue missions in the waters around New York City. In 2024, Drew received honorable mention for the USCG CAPT Niels P. Thomsen Innovation Award for the design and development of an AI service. Drew holds a 100 Ton Masters mariner credential with sailing endorsement. Drew is a native of South Carolina. He and his family live outside New York City in Bergen County, New Jersey. When he’s not involved in Auxiliary duties, Drew enjoys cycling and ocean sailing, particularly in long-distance races like the 2015 Transatlantic Race, where brings his USCG risk management training to overcoming challenges. Drew is a marketing strategist by da and holds an BA in Philosophy and an MBA from Emory University.
