Please report any broken links to <[email protected]

The formal web address for Auxiliary web sites is

HTTP://a<district number><division number><flotilla number>.wow.uscgaux.info

For our flotilla

District - 081 (8th coastal region)

Division - 06

Flotilla - 12

therefore the complete link for this flotilla is ==> http://a0810612.wow.uscgaux.info

Note: Currently the formal address above is automatically converted to a WOW database call. This is why you will not actually see the formal URL in your web browser.  I have been assured by the IT group that the formal URL above will always work, even if they change systems.

Digital Signature for FSO-CS Email address

Thu, 23 Apr 15   Posted by: Thornton Dyson
I have procured a s-mime certificate for the [email protected] address and my personal email addresses.

I have set up a digital signature that will be attached to all emails from the [email protected] address. This will assure that any mail you receive is actually from that address and not from someone who is spoofing the address.

What you
may see is a smime.p7s file attached to any email from me. This is especially true if you are using a website to read your email.

Most local clients (MS-outlook, Thunderbird, etc) already know what to do with the smime file and you will not see it. In this case, your client will have some way to indicate that the email is “trusted”. For example, MS-outlook will have a little red ribbon on the upper right side of your email.

If your client says my certificate is not trusted,
call me before you do anything.   you need to make sure that the note was actually from me. Don't click on an attached URL, don't go to any web site in the note, don't reply to the email: call on the phone!

If you want to install the certificate, and don’t know how, give me a call and I will do my best to walk you thru the process.

If you are familiar with certificates you can check the trust path and trust the COMODO root certificates. You need to make sure that the top of the certificate path is trusted. This will be the UserTrust certificate that COMODO uses as their root trust certificate.
