Boating Safety Tips. Easy steps. Be legal.

What can you do to keep those you care about safer on the water? It's simple.

You — as a boat operator, passenger, or concerned individual — can make all the difference!

What You Can Do:
  1. Wear your life jacket. Find tips here.
  2. Know what to do. Take a safe boating class.
  3. Have safety equipment. Get a vessel safety check.
  4. Don't drink and boat.
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is dedicated to reducing loss of life, injuries, and property damage that occur on U.S. waterways by improving the knowledge, skills, and abilities of recreational boaters. The Auxiliary supports this Coast Guard Mission through public education, conducting vessel safety inspections, and directly supporting the Coast Guard in marine safety missions.
