Boaters Local Knowledge Backwaters - Updated for 2025

This course begins where Boaters Local Knowledge (BLK) ends and provides those who want to explore the backwaters of the 10,000 Islands with the information they will need to safely navigate this unique area. Geography, tides, weather, and other factors can effect navigation in the backwater. This course will help boaters gain a solid foundation by understanding these potential obstacles along with other valuable information including GPS and the proper equipment needed to ensure safe trips in the backwater. Aerial and on-water photos along with high-definition videos are used throughout the class to aid boaters in knowing where they can go...and where not to go. Actual routes into the 10,000 Islands are reviewed in the class. Attendees are provided with the waypoints for these routes in a comprehensive handout, allowing them to be replicated and added to their GPS unit. This course is recommended for intermediate to advanced boaters. To reflect the ever- changing conditions in the backwater, this course is updated frequently

Top Spot Chart #N204 is recommended for use during the class. This will allow you to mark up the chart with the routes that are discussed. Please bring this chart and a Sharpee or markers with you to the class.

$70; Course starts at 5:00PM (3 hrs)
