UPDATE TO 2020 NATIONAL OPERATIONS WORKSHOPS REQUIREMENTS

Subj: UPDATE TO 2020 NATIONAL OPERATIONS WORKSHOPS REQUIREMENTS

Ref:  ALAUX 001-20 2020 NATIONAL OPERATIONS WORKSHOPS REQUIREMENTS  

1. Due to the impacts of the of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions and safety protocols implemented across the country, the following changes to the National Operations Workshop requirements are effective immediately: 

 (a) The Surface Operations Workshop completion date is changed from June 30th, 2020 to September 30th, 2020.  If the safety protocols are in effect for a longer period of time, CG-BSX and the NEXCOM will consider changing the completion date as circumstances warrant. 

 (b) All National Operations Workshops (Surface/Air/Communications) may be completed via webinar. The workshop training material(s) must be delivered by any Auxiliarist qualified in the respective operations program provided they are either a certified instructor or are under the supervision of a certified instructor.  Instructors may use any webinar delivery platform that is available in their region.  Instructors are encouraged to work with their Chain of Leadership and Management (COLM) to determine the proper delivery platform.   

2. The 2020 Operations Workshop presentations are located at the National Response Directorate web page at: https://wow.uscgaux.info/content.php?unit=R-DEPT&category=WHATSNEW

3. The 2020 Air Operations and Telecommunications workshops remain optional.  Those members certified or training to become certified in aviation and telecommunications competencies are strongly encouraged to complete their respective program workshop.

4. Guidance for the Risk Management/Team Coordination Training Refresher & Crew Resource Management Refresher is forthcoming.

5. Internet Release is Authorized. 

***For many reasons including the value of keeping communication lines clear and open as well as facilitating access to training and educational tools, all Auxiliarists are urged to have their own email address and to keep it updated in AUXDATA.***
