081CR-04-09 (Flotilla 04-09) formed July 01, 1965 as a support asset for the New Orleans Mississippi River front, hence our motto "On the banks of the Mighty Mississippi". To this day Flotilla 04-09 continues to be an asset to the Greater New Orleans Region as a robust volunteer unit. With over 30 members, Flotilla 04-09 is made up of former and current military, first responders, and civilians of various backgrounds. Most members have a connection to the maritime or flight communities and have an interest in being a part of something bigger. Members come from all types of different backgrounds and levels of experience but each brings their own story and skill set to help make our Flotilla great.

Our area of operation is Lake Pontchartrain with our home port at West End Marina.

We provide support to Active Duty and Reserve USCG Assets through the following:

-Conducting on water and dockside patrols for boating events and festivals

-Promote safe boating through educational materials/visits and Vessel Safety Checks (VSCs)

-Search and rescue operations on the water, shore lines, and in the air

-Communications through radio Nets and support with HAM clubs
