Elections: Division 5 held its annual meeting and election on October 13, 2018 at Sector North Bend. Attending members enjoyed fellowship night dinner at Captain's Choice and Saturday lunch at Tai Dynasty. During the meeting on Saturday, Active-duty guests, from Sector North Bend, included USCG CDR Guerrero, LT Collier, and Chief Petty Officer Pasquier. Saturday training included Social Media and the Auxiliary, presented by Deborah Heldt Cordone, PA3 (DSO-PB/SO-PA) and Diversity presented by Donna Cox, BC-DPN, Branch Chief-Diversity Pacific North. Several awards were presented during the meeting.

26JUL18: Crew members from around Division 5 came aboard 76 ft. AUXFAC MISS LINDA for training with Coast Guard STA Coos Bay and Air STA North Bend on the Central Oregon Coast. In the morning, we conducted two boat training, and in the afternoon, HELO OPS. MISS LINDA is a 125-ton Oceanographic Research Vessel owned by Bob Pedro, USCG Auxiliary. This was her first time out as a training platform in several years. Jerry Evans, FL51 Auxiliarist, performed Coxswain duties while underway. For more photos, visit here .

Division 5 Training Conference 2018!
Over the weekend, D13's Division 5 held a successful Southern Area Regional Training Conference in Newport, Oregon. USCG Auxiliary members traveled from throughout the District to attend the informative classes held on Saturday, April 14, 2018. The agenda included a Division Staff meeting, Friday night fellowship dinner, Saturday morning kick-off meeting, Saturday fellowship lunch and the following classes: TCT, OPS Workshop, Marine Safety, Paddle craft, PV/VE, AUXInfo/Forms, First Aid/CPR, and NAV Aid Verifier. Chief Warrant Officer Thomas Molloy, Commander Station Yaquina Bay, was the guest speaker for the kick-off meeting. Pam C-K, D13 DSO-NV, traveled all the way from San Juan Islands to teach the NAV Aid Verifier class. Nationally recognized paddle craft expert Tom Murphy (FL53) taught a section on paddle craft and demonstrated paddle craft safety in the hotel pool.
