How to Join the American Samoa USCG Auxiliary Flotilla

Becoming a member of the American Samoa USCG Auxiliary Flotilla is an exciting opportunity to serve your community, enhance maritime safety, and develop valuable skills. Follow these professional instructions to join:

Step 1: Contact the American Samoa Flotilla

Introduce yourself and express your interest in joining. The leadership will provide you with guidance and answer any initial questions. If possible, we recommend that you attend one of the flotilla’s monthly meetings to learn more about its mission, activities, and membership process. This will also give you an opportunity to meet current members.

Step 2: Complete the Application and New Member Exam

Fill out the Membership Application

Request the official USCG Auxiliary membership application form from the flotilla leadership or download it from the official USCG Auxiliary website. The USCG Auxiliary conducts this check to ensure the safety and security of its members and operations. Provide accurate personal information, including your contact details and background. Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements (e.g., U.S. citizenship or national, age 17 or older).

New Member Course Examination
The passing score is 80% (no more than 6 wrong answers, or unanswered questions are permitted). This is an "open-book examination" with a three hours time limit. You can take the exam online for the American Samoa Flotilla 140-03-28 now.

Step 3: Submit the Application

Provide any additional documents requested, such as proof of identity or citizenship and submit your application via email. You can also hand-deliver your completed application and supporting documents to the flotilla’s designated officer. Alternatively, email scanned copies if digital submissions are accepted.

Step 4: Complete Orientation and Training

Learn about the USCG Auxiliary’s history, missions, and expectations for members.

Complete Mandatory Training
Finish required courses, including the Auxiliary’s core training modules, to prepare for your role in the organization.

Step 5: Get Involved
