Division Commander Sean Flynn

Welcome to the 2024 U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 14 website.

Did you know that the Auxiliary was established on June 23, 1939, by an Act of Congress as the United States Coast Guard Reserve and re-designated as the Auxiliary on February 19, 1941? The Auxiliary is an incorporated, civilian volunteer component of the U.S. Coast Guard. The Congressional mandates state that the Auxiliary supports all USCG missions, except to directly engage in either law enforcement activities or military combat operations.

The original primary mission of the Auxiliary as it is today is Recreational Boating Safety. In the current era, the Auxiliary's four cornerstones have become (1) Member Services, (2) Operations and Marine Safety, (3) Recreational Boating Safety and (4) Socials & Fellowship.

Current programs in which Division 14 Auxiliary members participate in with the USCG include, but are not limited to:

  • Administrative Support to the Coast Guard
  • Aids to Navigation verification
  • Augmentation of Coast Guard billets
  • Auxiliary Air - USCG aircraft support
  • Contingency Planning and Force Readiness
  • Marine Safety and Environmental Protection
  • Operational Support: Including radio watch standing
  • Port Safety and Harbor Checks
  • Public Affairs support
  • Recreational Boating Safety: Including public education courses
  • Recruiting Support
  • Search and Rescue
  • Vessel Safety Checks
  • Maritime Domain Awareness
The Auxiliary shares the Coast Guard's core values, which are Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty and the motto "Semper Paratus” (Always Ready).

Thank you for visiting our website. Feel free to contact us if you have any question on the Auxiliary or Recreational Boating Safety.
