D17 Auxiliary AOMS Directive

Cook, Lori E CIV

Apr 16 at 1:57 PM

All Auxiliary Coxswains, crew members and leaders,

As we approach the operations season here in D17, we would like to remind
you of the proper procedures when requesting orders and reimbursement
through the Auxiliary (Patrol) Order Management System (AOMS). Please review
the attached, D17 Auxiliary AOMS Directive.

Here is the link to the AOMS program:
https://ordermgmt.uscg.gov/#forgotPassword

You may need to refresh your access to the system if you have not logged-in
in over 90 days.

When in AOMS, please remember to use the comments section, when requesting
your orders and also when submitting your reimbursement requests.

When requesting orders, add comments to give the OIA your intentions for the
patrol. If you submitted a crew waiver request with your Offer for Use and
it is approved and on file with the Director's Office, indicate in the
comments that you wish to exercise that waiver for a particular patrol so
the OIA can
authorize it on the orders.

When requesting your reimbursement, add to the comments indicating what you
actually did during the patrol. For example, indicate the type of training
you did or if you maybe stopped somewhere to do vessel exams. This all
helps to validate our missions and also gives you a record of your patrol
activities.
And don't forget to attach a scanned copy of your fuel receipt to your
completed orders before you send them!

Remember to enter 'Engine Hours' in AOMS after your patrol. This seems to
be the most missed entry! Also be sure to select the authorized 'meals' to
be reimbursed for each member onboard.

OPFAC owners/Coxswains submit your Direct Deposit information if it has
changed since last reimbursement. Instructions are attached above.

Please also consider reviewing the Auxiliary Operations Policy Manual, the
Auxiliary Manual (annotated online version) and ensure you are in compliance
with the current Rescue and Survival Systems Manual.

including Boat Crew Program Manuals:

Each Sector has recently updated their Auxiliary Operations Policy
Instructions. These will be sent to you in a separate email.
Please review them before your Ops season starts!

Here is the link to 'What's New' in the Response Directorate at the National
Level and it also contains information regarding the REQUIRED 2018
Operations
Workshop for surface ops:

Please ensure your IS enters this requirement into AUXDATA for you when
completed.

Your District Staff Officer for Operations (DSO-OP) is Jim Hendley in
Anchorage (Whittier Flotilla).

Please pass this along to anyone I may have missed.

Thank you and have a safe and enjoyable boating season!
