Flotilla 8-8 What's New!

We are always accepting applications for membership!

Flotilla 8-8 is actively seeking new members to join us in supporting the US Coast Guard mission.  We have many members and all of us have differing reasons for being in the Auxiliary.  The Auxiliary provides many avenues of service and fellowship.  A military or boating background is not necessary to be a happy and productive member, as we support many non-boating Coast Guard services.

The primary role of the USCG Auxiliary is to support Recreational Boating Safety in US coastal and inland waters.  To accomplish this we provide training, public speaking, community information, environmental protection, marine safety, communications services, on the water patrols, incident command center training and many other diverse activities.  The Coast Guard and Auxiliary provide free training for all of these opportunities.

Some questions to ask yourself to see if you might be interested:

  • Are boating and fellowship with like-minded people of interest to you?
  • Would you like to learn seamanship and boating skills from the Coast Guard?
  • Do you have time available to volunteer your services?
  • Would you like to receive free training in water safety and recreational boating?
  • Would you be interested in helping the Coast Guard during disasters like the Deep Water Horizon incident?
  • Have you been a member of the US military and wish to get involved again?
  • Do you believe in giving back to your country and community?
  • Do you want to be of service to Homeland Security?
  • Are you too old to join the military, but want to help support our Coast Guard team?

If you answer YES to ANY of these questions you are a candidate for the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Stop by any of our meetings or send an email to our Flotilla to get in contact with us today.
