Division 2 Member Training

Scheduled Division 2 Member Training Classes

On-Going - Auxiliary Mandated Training - All members are required to complete 10 mandated training classes (8 general subject classes and ICS 100 and ICS 700) - those who have been in for less than one year need to complete all classes by the end of their first year, those who have been in for more than one year need to complete all classes by 1 January 2016. You can complete the classes on line, in a classroom, and also by view video presentations. Links to all of the on line and video classes and additional information in on the National Web Site at this location.


Mandated Training Blitz - Get all 8 courses in one sitting - 14 Nov beginning at 0800 in the Coho Room. Please use the sign up web page (off site) to reserve a seat. This one stop does it all event is being repeated around the Northern Area - check the "What's Happening Page" of this web site for other locations (Port Townsend and Bellingham, for example), but get these classes done either in person or on line.


Starting 22 October - Auxiliary Specialty Course - Seamanship or AUXSEA is one of the core courses in for the AUXOP designation. AUXSEA covers boating terms, boat construction, maintenance, engines marlinspike seamanship, boat handling, rendering assistance, navigation rules, anchoring, duties, and manners. The course will take 7 weeks beginning Thursday night 22 October in the Coho Room at 1900. It will not meet on 22 November (Thanksgiving day). The closed book final test will be on 10 December. Course facilitators will be Mike Brough, Kelly Garber, Terrance Hooper, and Garrison Bromwell.


31 October - Team Coordination Training or TCT is required at least every 5 years for all members involved in surface operations (Crew, Coxswain, and PWC) and other activities such as Food Service. The initial TCT course is also the 5th year course and takes 4 hours.
Division 2 will offer a 4 hour TCT class on Saturday 31 October beginning at 0900 in the Coho Room (next to the Galley) on the Coast Guard Base. Uniform of the day is ODU (or civilian attire).

9 January 2016 (Morning) - New Member Orientation is our quarterly introduction to the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Come and learn what the Auxiliary is about and what some of the expectations, duties and rewards are. You'll also meet member from the various Flotillas in Division and see the various common uniforms. Assistance will be provided so you can complete the maze of paper work needed to become a member. Be sure to enter your Email when you sign up so we can send you additional information. Class will be in the Coho Room on the base next to the Galley at 0900 on 9 Jan 2016. Facilitators will include officers and senior members of the Division.

9 January 2016 (Afternoon) - Vessel Examiner Course - Become a vessel examiner, this introductory session will show you how to examine a boat, fill out the paperwork, and account for your time. You'll also find out how and where to take the on-line open book exam and set up contacts so you can complete the mentored exams necessary for the qualification. Course will meet on 9 Jan 2016 in the Coho room at 1300. Facilitator will be Jim Ehnborn.
