Flotilla 05-09 serves the Los Angeles/Long Beach port area. The Flotilla is based in San Pedro and meets at the Marine Exchange/Vessel Traffic Service building in San Pedro.

Flotilla activities include on the water patrols, recreational boating safety, marine safety and environmental protection, augmentation of the U.S. Coast Guard, Sector Los Angeles/Long Beach, operating public tours of the Point Vicente and Point Hueneme Lighthouses and vessel safety inspections.
