Notes: A QEX is an Operational QUALIFICATION EXERCISE where Boat Crew and Coxswains (current, REYR and initial candidates) will meet with Qualification Examiners (QEs) for Dockside and On-The-Water skills tests. All participants must apply through the individual event coordinator (usually SO-OP for hosting division) at least 30 days prior to the event. The cut-off for having all requirements met is 15 days prior to the start of QEX. No exceptions. Anyone providing boats for use as platforms must plan on using only minimum crew (not involving any candidates being tested) and should be made available for the duration of the event.

Notes: OPTREX- This is a land-based OPERATIONAL TRAINING EXERCISE. Stations for training and hands-on operation will include P-6 Pump, Fire Extinguishers, Flares, Towing, Line handling, Heaving line, and Knots. Great refresher for experienced personnel, training for brand new folks and everyone in between. Recommend taking in conjunction with TCT which will be held immediately prior.
