Our Goals for the PE Department include:

• Bringing to the Public, Educational material & presentations that are both Experiential and Life Changing Experiences.
• Bringing to Students, a new way of increasing their own experiences thru exposure to Public Education as a way of looking and EXPERIENCING life in general 
• Increasing the Cadre of Instructors who are ardent believers that Communication is the method by which a students success is experienced.

One of the Greatest, most Dedicated and needed Services that the Auxiliary was commissioned by Congress to perform, is and will always be:

• Providing Education to the Public about Boating Safety, Boating Hazards and Boating Laws, Rules & Regulations!

Boating Safety takes on many forms and purposes:

• Ensuring the Public has enough Information to make wise decisions
• Providing Information about Safety and Security while Boating
• What to do Incase of a Boating Emergency
• Rules and Regulations about Accidents and Injuries of Boating both Federal and State
• Equipment onboard and how to use it to ensure Boating Safety
• Transportation of a Boat or other Water Vehicle
• Preventing Boating Accidents
• Preventing Boating Violations
• What to do if you are Boarded by the USCG or any other Federal Agency while on your Water Vehicle

These are just a few… there are so many more.  

Prior to COVID restrictions, we offered many, many classes in-person. Just because that cannot be the case right now, doesn’t mean the Education Stops! Boating continues… so too, does the Education!

AND for this reason, the USCG Auxiliary serves a purpose to help save lives by providing a valuable, low cost alternative to you the PUBLIC. Getting a ticket is a great learning experience. Being boarded by the USCG is also a valuable experience... albeit not as expensive!

The Public Education Classes were designed by several organizations both Government (USCG) and Non-Profit (NBSLA) to help PREVENT Accidents and Issues from occurring from a lack of knowledge and INCREASE SAFE PRACTICES by all Water Craft users and even guests just onboard for a good time. 

The Public Education classes address all the items listed above in addition to SO MANY MORE NOT LISTED!

DUE TO COVID 19, ALL OF OUR CLASSES are ONLY offered ONLINE! 

Just because it is online, does not mean it is boring, inconvenient or difficult to navigate. We are prepared to do what it takes to help you, to ensure your boating world is EXCITING, FUN and FILLED with Safety, Security & Awareness.

All instructors are highly trained USCG Auxiliary Officers, filled with years of Boating experiences, certified Instructors by the USCG and best of all, excited to share with you not only the material but also their valued experiences!

PUBLIC EDUCATION IS ALL ABOUT COMMUNICATION!
