Volunteer Information

The Auxiliary offers a great opportunity for citizens to serve, train, and participate in boating safety and other functions under the direction of the U.S. Coast Guard. Some of the unique opportunities that the Auxiliary offers cannot be matched anywhere else.  Depending on your interests, you can receive instruction and experience in such varied areas as:

Aux Chef, Lead Boating Safety Classes, Vessel Safety Checks, Radio Watch Standing, Land Patrols, Boat Crew Operations ,Search and Rescue and much more.

You'll make lasting friendships and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you've made a difference.

You can also serve in leadership, instructional, technical and administrative areas.

The Flotilla is also interested in those who own boats that can become classified as a USCG Auxiliary Operational Facility. The ideal boat is about 25 feet (or larger) and either moored or launched from San Diego Bay or Mission Bay. If you are interested in lending your services to the Auxiliary, contact a member today!

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, 17 years or older - no upper limit.
