Public Education

The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the civilian arm of the U.S. Coast Guard. Members volunteer their time, talents, and resources to assist the boating public in learning to use their boats safely and responsibly so everyone can enjoy the water and water activities.

We are a active in many different types of education. We participate in:

  • Community and school safety fairs and events
  • Attend boat shows
  • Teach boating classes
  • Visit boat dealers, marine equipment and supply stores, and other public venues to supply pamphlets and other information to the public to make it easy for you to find the information you need.
  • Work with Utah State Parks Boating and Recreation on educational opportunities.
Would you like to take a boating education class?  Simply contact us and one of our instructors will contact you to make the arrangements. 

 Want to take an on-line boating safety class?  The Utah Boating Office offers On-Line Boating Courses for adults and youth.
