Monterey Flotilla Operations

Operations: On-the-Water Patrols, Aviation, and USCG Support--

SURFACE OPERATIONS -- Auxiliarists are uniformed volunteers. Flotilla 6-4 Members perform safety and aids-to-navigation patrols in the Monterey Bay area, and in other areas as needed. Auxiliary vessels and their crews work under the control of the Coast Guard, and aid in search and rescue (SAR), marine safety, and other missions.

Auxiliary crew members and Coxswains qualify using the same boat crew training manual as used by Coast Guard Regular and Reserve Members, and must satisfy annual currency maintenance requirements. On most Saturdays, 6-4 boat crews conduct on-the-water patrols and train with Active Duty personnel of USCG Station Monterey.
