Our Brief History
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary was established by Congress in 1939 to primarily assist the Coast Guard in promoting boating safety. It boasts nearly 36,000 members from all walks of life who receive special training so that they may be a functional part of Team Coast Guard.

Our Mission
Since its inception, The Coast Guard Auxiliary has expanded its parameters to virtually all areas in which the Coast Guard participates, except direct law enforcement and military operations. Recreational Boating Safety - consisting of our many boating safety classes, distributing boating safety information to the public, providing free vessel safety checks, and doing safety patrols on land, water, and in the air. Support of Maritime Homeland Security and other maritime safety challenges that have emerged in recent years.

Who We Are
Since 1939, the men and women of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary have volunteered millions of hours in support of the Coast Guard and the recreational boating public.

Area of Operations
Flotilla 3-5 has served the public over 100+ missions from Sacramento Delta Waterways to the San Francisco Bay.

Sacramento Flotilla 3-5 is based in Sacramento, California at the Sacramento Yacht Club, Flotilla 3-5 has developed a comprehensive operations that meets the boating needs of District 11NR Auxiliary. This program has been developed in cooperation with Coast Guard liaison officers and instructors at USCG Auxilary.
