Vessel Safety Check:

The Coast Guard Auxiliary offers a free Vessel Safety Check to recreational boaters. This non- law enforcement check will let the skipper know if he has all the proper equipment on board to meet Federal, State and Local boating regulations. Items that will be checked include: Registration and Numbering, Lighting, Life Jackets, and Ventilation Systems, just to name a few. Be sure you know before you go. VSCCheck Photo

Float Plan:

Filing a float plan could save your life. Let a trusted person you know the details of vour voyage. Such as when you are leaving, the area you will be cruising, and the time you intend to return. Recreational boating in the United States is growing rapidly. The Coast Guard Auxiliary needs volunteers. As an Auxiliarist, you will have the opportunity to select and participate in one or more of the Auxiliary's major programs. If you feel strongly about the rewards you can get from serving your community, the Coast Guard Auxiliary may be the right place for you. From on-the-water Operations, Public Education programs, Vessel Examination programs, Coast Guard Recruiting or Marine Environmental Protection, the Auxiliary has opportunities for almost everyone.
