Division 45's Area of Responsibility (AOR)

Division 45 has the responsibility for Recreational Boating Safety (RBS) on the inland waters of South-Central Wisconsin.  This responsibility is shared between the three Flotillas composing the Division and includes public education, free boat checks for recreational boaters, distribution of boating safety literature, and water patrols on Madison lakes.

Madison-area lakes and rivers are Wisconsin sole state waters.  Lake Wisconsin, Lake Koshkonong, Wisconsin River, and Rock River are federal waters, according to the Coast Guard. 
Law enforcement of all these waters resides with County Sheriffs and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. 

Our mission orders are issued by U.S.C.G. Sector Lake Michigan,
and our radio guard resides with U.S.C.G. Station Milwaukee.
