Bill Thompson

Dr. John William "Bill"Thompson, September 26, 1931 -  November 28, 2012.

Born in Dallas, TX on September 26, 1931. Son of the late John William and Corinne Walker Thompson. Dr. Thompson earned his Bachelor's and Master's from East Texas State University and D.Ed. from North Texas State University. Dr. Thompson taught 43 years at Belmont University in the Sports Sciences Department and was awarded Professor Emeritus status upon his retirement this past Spring.

Bill was a proud member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and was awarded the Auxiliary Commandant Letter of Commendation for Member Training in 2006.

Survived by wife of 45 years, Ann McAdams Thompson; daughters, Mary Ruth (Cory) Gilbert and Carol (Curtis) Nelson; and granddaughters, Grace Stewart, Alexandria Nelson and Brianna Nelson.
