Kentucky State Boating Course

Boaters, do you know your legal responsibilities on water? Know the age requirements and responsibilities for young boaters? Know what equipment is required on board? Can you "read" buoys, day markers and charts? Know how to handle emergencies? Know safe mooring techniques? How to tie a knot that stays tied?
These and other topics will be addressed at a "Kentucky State Boating Course" taught by experienced Coast Guard Auxiliary Instructors.
The class meets requirements for young boaters (ages 12 through 17) who are required to obtain certification before operating personal watercraft or other boats solo.
The class will meet from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with a break for lunch.
Most insurance companies offer discounts on boat insurance to boat owners who successfully pass this course.
