Division 4, Eighth District Eastern Region, has about 100 dedicated members in five Flotillas. Our Division is based in Louisville, Kentucky, with Flotillas in Louisville; Lexington, Kentucky; and Evansville and Jeffersonville, Indiana. Our area of operation covers approximately 75% of Kentucky and all of southern Indiana.  Our members come from all walks of life, and include IT professionals, veterinarians, attorneys, retired military personnel, and security professionals. 

Our members support the Coast Guard's Recreational Boating Safety mission by conducting Vessel Safety Checks; performing safety patrols; conducting boating safety courses; and providing safety literature at marine retailers. Every year, we can be found out on rivers and lakes in the area; at the Louisville and Lexington boat shows; at Thunder Over Louisville, the world's largest fireworks display kicking off the Kentucky Derby Festival; the Great Steamboat Race, the Derby Festival's annual steamboat race featuring the legendary Belle of Louisville.  We also support marine events in Evansville, Indiana and Owensboro and national level events on Lake Cumberland, Kentucky.  We also get underway on Aids to Navigation patrols, ensuring that navigational aids are working properly and reporting those that are not, and performing patrols at the request of our area Coast Guard leadership. Our division also provides radio support and has a group of certified Auxiliary pilots to support Coast Guard aviation. We also have members dedicated to providing administrative support to the Coast Guard and the Auxiliary. 

In 2019, our members provided over 9,700 hours of their time in support of these and many other functions, ranging from website support to member training. Division 4 also hosted the Spring District Training conference in Jeffersonville, Indiana. No matter the mission, our members stand SEMPER PARATUS--Always Ready--to rise to the occasion.
