About the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Uncle Sam I Want You

What is the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary? The Auxiliary is the uniformed, civilian volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard. Team Coast Guard has four components: Active Duty, Reserves, Auxiliary and civilian employees. The first three groups are uniformed. There are some 26,000 Auxiliary members operating in all 50 U.S. states and the U.S. territories. We support the Coast Guard in all its operations and are permitted by law to participate in all Coast Guard operations except combat and direct law enforcement.
