Vessel Examinar Qual Procedures
To Qualify for Vessel Examiner, you just need to do four things:
- BQ Status
- Read and fully understand the VE workshop, and sign the attestation form
- Pass the VE Exam at the National Testing Center
- Perform five (5) program visits under a qualified Program Visitor
Here are the steps for qualification:
1) Open and review the Vessel Safety Check Manual: http://vdept.cgaux.org/pdf-files/CIM_16796_8A.pdf
2) Open and thoroughly review the Vessel Exam Workshop: https://wow.uscgaux.info/Uploads_wowII/V-DEPT/2023_VE_workshop_Dec_4_22.pdf
3) Fill out the VE Workshop attesting form and sign acknowledging you have reviewed and understand the workshop. https://wow.uscgaux.info/Uploads_wowII/V-DEPT/2023_IT_VE_Workshop_Self_Attestation_Form_V4_9338_.pdf Send the form to FSO-IS (Cliff) for entry into AuxData2
4) Log into the National Testing Center. This is where a vast majority of your tests are for qualifications and you should become familiar with accessing this site. http://ntc2.cgaux.org/NTC/If you have problems logging in, please watch this video:

5) Once you log in you should see the below. Select VE (Vessel Examiner).
6) Pass the open book exam. It will automatically synch with AuxData2 within about a week. In the meantime, preform five VEs under a qualified PV and then ask FC (or for F43, Cliff) to submit a helpdesk ticket to add the competency
