(Sep 2017: The following is older content that was recently moved to this new location. Updates are in progress)

NFORMATION FOR NEW MEMBERS

1.  CLICK ON THIS LINK
http://www.auxsecbalt.com/newmember.html

This is an orientation for new members.

2.  EXPLORE "OTHER FLOTILLAS" WEBSITES

They have a wealth of good information for new (and old) members.

Too much to add to our site.

3.  NEED A CREW OR COX TASK SIGN-OFF?

See list of 25-8 Mentors on the Member Training page.

4.  CLICK ON SPECIFIC CALENDAR DATES FOR INFO

Often there is an attachment concerning the event.  For example, the draft minutes of our May flotilla meeting are attached to the date of our June flotilla meeting for you to review before attending.

5.  LOOK AT THE NATIONAL HELP DESK FOR FAQ

The National Help Desk (see left menu) has a lot of frequently asked questions of interest to new members.

Assigned to Duty

Mt. Vernon Flotilla members ONLY, please do not forget to e-mail an "Assigned to Duty" message to "a2d.mtvernon @ gmail.com" before you head out to any USCG or USCG Auxiliary activities (e.g., a Flotilla workshop, maritime patrol, to staff a USCG Auxiliary booth at a boat show, stand a watch at Station Washington, etc.)

That way if you are involved in an accident while en route to the activity, you will have a better chance of having your medical treatment or damage to your vehicle compensated, at least in part, by the U.S. Coast Guard.

More detail about Assigned to Duty and an example of what to send can found on the Assigned to Duty information page.
