Boat Grounded

  Course Descriptions:

We offer boating classes for you at U.S. Coast Guard Station-Emerald Isle, the Swansboro Recreation Center and the Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, NC.

About Boating Safely - 8 hours - for all boaters. This introductory boating class will give you the knowledge needed to obtain a boat license or safety certification in many states. Many boat insurance companies will offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete this class.

Boating Skills and Seamanship - 6 weeks, 2 sessions a week - Power boaters - A more advanced class and follow on to About Boating Safely. A comprehensive course designed for both the experienced and the novice boater. More in-depth coverage of topics covered in the About Boating Safely class including weather, VHS radios, lines and knots, introduction to charting, marine engines, and local area knowledge in the Swansboro area.

Suddenly in Command - 2 hours - All Boaters - A boating safety primer for new boat owners and is designed for those not generally at the helm, and will help you to “be prepared” with the basics in case of an emergency.
