USCG Auxiliary Birthday
June 23 - Coast Guard Auxiliary Birthday - Established
as the Coast Guard Reserve in 1939 by Congress with the incredible growth of recreational boating. With the outbreak of WWII in 1941 this volunteer service as renamed as the CG Auxiliary and more than 50,000 members protected our waters freeing up the Coast Guard to fight overseas.
USCG's Birthday
August 4 - US Coast Guard Birthday - Happy Birthday Coast Guard! Established as the Revenue Cutter Service in 1790 by the nation's first leader George Washington. It is the oldest American armed force on the sea.
