WELCOME TO FLOTILLA 58 !

Flotilla 58 is located in Portsmouth, VA in the southeastern region of Virginia. The southeastern region also known as "Tidewater" has an abundance of rivers, lakes, and waterways which were used by Native Americans for resources, the establishment of Jamestown in 1607, and the region was vital in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is a volunteer organization which provides assistance and aid to the United States Coast Guard. The USCG Auxiliary primary mission is to promote boating safety to the local communities providing education, vessel examination, training, and other activities.

Operations that the USCG Auxiliary perform are surface operations, air operations, communications, information technology, public affairs, vessel exams, navigation and many other operations that are vital to the U S Coast Guard.

Volunteering for the USCG Auxiliary is very beneficial and rewarding and provides opportunities to receive training for new skill sets or by using experience and skills developed from employment or education. Joining the USCG Auxiliary is also a way to find fellowship with people from different backgrounds and experiences.
