Free Boat Checks

    Flotilla 12-01 members perform free Vessel Safety Checks (VSCs) at area marinas, and are also available to inspect boats at storage locations by appointment. Locations and dates for 2020 will be announced at the Calendar page as they are scheduled.

    This safety check is voluntary and no record of whether the vessel passes goes to any law enforcement agency. The goal of each check is to review with the owner what he or she should have on board to make sure that every trip on the water is safe and enjoyable. Following successful completion of the check, a decal is awarded. It's possible that your insurance company will offer a slight discount for obtaining a decal, so make sure to ask your agent about that possibility.
