Member Training

    As an Auxiliarist you have access to as much free training, both online and classroom, as you have the time and desire for. You will have the chance to become qualified as a boat crew member or a coxswain in order to participate in safety patrols in local waters. The Flotilla's Staff Officer for Operations schedules a number of training and safety patrols each boating season in the Indian River area.

   You can also become qualified as a Vessel Examiner and inspect recreational vehicles to help make sure your fellow boaters have the knowledge and safety equipment they need to enjoy their boating experience safely. Two other qualifications available are Program Visitor, someone who distributes educational materials to area retail locations, and Instructor, which enables you to teach safe boating classes.
